Looking Ahead …

  • The Pines-U Sunday School Class will finish the spring semester with a great line-up of speakers…it is never too late to join us!
April 30: Mr. Alok Jain from the Jain Community; May 7: Manpreet Singh from the Sikh Community
May 14:  Jim Brady leading a discussion on The Barmen Declaration;
May 21: Brooke Summers-Perry sharing about the Hines Center for Spirituality & Prayer
  • National Day of Prayer – May 4, Worship Service at 12:00 Noon in the Pines Sanctuary
  • “Youth Car Wash” Saturday, May 6: (9am-3pm) Invite your friends and families to our youth car wash, and have your and their car(s) clean and shiny.  All proceeds will go to the youth mission trips this year!  The car wash opens at 9am and closes at 3pm in the driveway of the Kimberley Lane parking lot.
  • Sign-ups are taking place in the Fellowship Hall for the Church Wide Work Day on May 13th.  Be sure to come for a free hamburger!
  • Save the date and join our Pines family for a fun outing at the Skeeters Game at Constellation Field in Sugarland on Saturday, May 20. Last Sunday for ticket sales is April 30 in the Fellowship Hall area. 
  • Children’s Ministry is looking for interested adults to teach a summer Sunday school class with a mixed age group of children from 3 years old through the end of 5th grade. If you have not worked with the children before, you will need to have a background check completed and take the online “Protect My Ministry” course. Please contact Valerie Mowell with any questions and for more information.
  • VBS registration continues!Forms are available on our website by going to the Children’s Ministry section, then clicking on the Vacation Bible School tab at the top, or click this link to be taken to the VBS page http://pinespc.org/vacation-bible-school/. Please fill out one per child and turn in with payment to the church office. 

2017 Faith In Practice participants are leaving Saturday, April 29. Pines members are Phil Johnson, Linda Johnson, Steve Retzloff, Barbara Retzloff and Barbara’s daughter, Melanie McClintic. Follow along on the Faith in Practice website. Former member Joyce Pelton will be the official photographer during the trip and will place her photos on the website  https://www.faithinpractice.org/.
