Opportunities to Minister in the Music Department

We have several musical groups here at Pines. All are open to anyone who can make the time commitment to join.

No auditions are necessary. We see singing, ringing or playing an instrument as praying twice.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir ministers every Sunday morning in the 10:45 a.m. service.
During the year we have rehearsals every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the choir room. On Sundays, rehearsals begin at 10:00 a.m. The Chancel Choir leads worship with song for two major services during the year…. the Christmas Cantata and the Good Friday Reflection Service. The Choir also offers Follies!, a fun Broadway show tunes dinner show that features the choir, various duets, solos, orchestra, and bells on the first Sunday in June.

Pines Pealers

The Pines Pealers generally minister in the 10:45 service once a month.
This group rehearses in the Bell Room (C-12) on Wednesday evenings at 5:45 p.m.

The Pines Pealers are our Handbell Choir. No experience is needed, just a willingness to serve God by ringing bells. They also play for special services during the year. This group is directed by Bethel Strawser.

Pines Orchestra
The Orchestra rehearses on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
The group also rehearses at 8:30 a.m. on the second Sunday of the month prior to playing during worship.
The Pines Orchestra is made up of members of the congregation who wish to share their instrumental gifts.

Men's Chorale
The Men’s Chorale meets every second and fourth Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Choir Room.
The Men’s Chorale minsters in the 10:45 worship service once a month, and at outreach events away from the church. Members include men from the Chancel Choir and the congregation.

Women's Chorale
The Women’s Chorale meets every second and fourth Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Choir Room.
This group ministers several times a year in the 10:45 service and at outreach events away from the church.

This group consists of ladies from the Chancel Choir the congregation who like to sing.

Jubilant July Voices

The music is often very familiar tunes and is practiced prior to worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Choir Room. During the month of July, we give our Chancel Choir members the month off and we invite members of the congregation to experiment with the joy of singing in the choir.
